Its time to put the throbbing member which is The Hendersons to sleep. I have chosen to kill the monster with the one eye for several reasons as follows: 1. Chronic RSI from my masturbatory tendencies. 2. I am leaving the counrty. 3. I hate my band mates. 4. I just don't have the time. 5. Focus is needed and I can't multi-task too well. Edit: I'd like to point out I have spoken to all members before going Bobbit with the band scissors! It may look like number four is a cop-out but I (with work and other shit that you don't need to know about) just have not the time or energy to burn on a band that in all honesty is not gonna be in the green when it comes to finances any time soon. The Hendersons was supposed to be aboot fun and it ended up not so because of alot of small issues usually gear or lack of practice time ( which is my fault 'cos I can't be fucked missing Shortland Street especially on my days off) and I found my self judging the band in my own mind too much because of the tech issues leaving no time for the fun aspect of abusing people from behind the mic....which is what I love about live music. Before 'rumours' go round as they do in this town it has nothing to do with niether my missus told me to do it or the lack of The Henersons slots at the up and coming or previous Swamp Fests .Cx and myself may not see eye to eye on alot in this town but the ball was still rolling afew weeks before the Hendersons/Vatican/Wrath/was it hellborne? gig where this issue was raised.This just helped to steel up my resolve to end it.If I hear one peep of 'your missus is being a choker chain' or the like I WILL fucking destroy you. The politics between band/members/hangers-on is to big for a town so small.You will never get music out to the masses of bogans in the greater world if everyone keeps going on as they are. Wake up, be glad for the sucssess of other bands/your friends 'cos this can only make the scene stronger. "Rome wasn't built in a day.." it also wasn't built by people sitting around complaining their rock is heavier (or is it lighter in our case?=)) to carry than some one elses. The Hendersons still have a collection of GREAT new songs that are recorded but as yet unreleased. These shall be available soon to punters in what form it is still under consideration. A seeya gig is a possibility but not a definite at the moment. It does suck to have the final gig out of town but with the gigging situation as it is I myself are just praying that all the Swamp Fest go smoothly. Rogue State will be carrying on with Myself and Max. I'll post up some news on that soon. The issue with point five is a major one and I hope is disscussed further (not here). I think it is crowding the scene a little with similar sounding bands. Bands who I enjoy as a listener and friend but in the end it maybe getting over the top awee bit. I did enjoy The Hendersons and I got to play with some hell bogans round the town/country, and get drunk with them too.I bow to you all.Cheers to all who came to see our gigs bought our disc or gave me a beer. A huge thanks to Wrath, you guys sre getting better each time I've seen you.Laura (spelling) and Murray for heaps of support and Skeletor & Anita for turning up to every gig. No thanks to all you gossipy fucking retarded no-it-all back seat musician/artist fucks ( you know who you are) and any one else who thinks they are something other than a tiny spec of dust in comparison the the enormity of the Universe -Time and Space - Catch you round! Why oh Why oh Why???? Yes, I know, reasons 1 to 5 above... Where have all the big black bogan jerseys gone? Where has The Hendersons gone? All gone! Gone!! The Hendersons certainly were a very interesting bunch, and it's good that all of the members will continue on in their other band or bands... Such is the $lave way. |

its a shame..... but I am supportive my brother in metal....... RSI can be a problem.......... luckily when I gave up playing my guitar, I could mastubate again comfortably, so you will be sorted again soon dude!!!!!!!!  All the best with future endevours .... whether they be musical or mastubatory....... metal up your arse hehehe (its funny cos right from the start that band had no integrity, changing the name of the album to please the record company) |

All the best Rob with everything you venture into \m/ ....I will always hum The Henderson tunes and everyone on my course is so sick of hearing The Hendersons now cause i have it opening on every page of the project hahaha, you have about 20 people that walk around Ucol humming "Where did all the black black jerseys go" haha...Well im still gonna continue with the project and it will something you guys can take away with yous...a good memory....and when is this final gig out of town? |

The last gig was in Napier. About 3 weeks ago, so I was just thinking its stink it had to be the last one being out of town and all. I reckon you should do a party gig at the very least so the people can say good bye to the hendersons in only the right way proper  ..... mind you I acknowledge you have to draw a line somewhere and make the break. Often that is a hard thing to do in life.......... Who knows, maybe in a few years time there could be a the hendersons reunion gig...... that would be something special

Indeed The Hendersons had a mighty run, from it's inception (springing from the festering corpse of Ruptured Spleen) and the early practices in that narrow cat-shit festooned little room at 666 to the first show at harvesters. Who remembers that stupid bitch getting all up in rob's face. In retrospect, that was probably more like a Rogue State show I guess. Then there was the cabaret preformance at Skeletal Remains providing the soundtrack to clown-guy's shame  and David Martin's turtle party when Markham joined (that was some close-quarters moshing). Then they got that other guy. Which reminds me of a Dojo Party when he stomped around playing solo's for fuckin' ages and he wasn't even plugged in  and the Riot Carnival show running everything incl. the lights off one fucking hot-point. Since then there have been heaps of other great shows. So I think it would be a shame to smother the hendersons in it's sleep. As I said to Rob yesterday, If The Hendersons must die make it a god-damned public execution with one more god-damned fuckin' show. (perhaps in their case "Pubic Execution" or "Pubic Examination") Seriously though cheers to Rob, Max, Jimmy and Markham for all the wicked sounds, and cheers to Arbs for not stabbing me and max that time.
