Two Turkish prisoners who conceived a child by drilling a 9cm hole between their respective cells and maintaining sexual relations which produced a child have each received four-month sentences for damaging public property.

Convicted murderer Seylan Corduk, 40, and Kadriye Fikret Oget, 27, a convicted bomber, drilled a hole through their concrete communal cell wall in order to satisfy their carnal desires.

Both originally received a one-year sentences and a 218-million-Turkish-lira fine however this was reduced to 4 months and 72 million lira "in view of the neglible nature of the damage caused."
