Along the lines of Corrupted/Grief/Eyehategod?

dunno if it'd be your speed or not, but I have a friend with a band called Doom Extravaganza... they list influences as Kyuss, Goatsnake, Dozer

see

Also Campbell Kneale, who people may better know as noise merchant Birchville Cat Motel, has released a metal album as Black Boned Angel. From Bruce Russells article in Wire magazine - "Black Boned Angel indulge in very slow, very 'eavy riffing, with occasional megaphone vocals and flailing drumming, like an unholy marriage between The Butthole Surfers and Sunn O)))". I am definitely getting a copy when I get back to New Zealand.

Where can I hear Corrupted/Grief/Eyehategod? I guess I'll need to get you to play me some music while I'm visiting!

Cheers, I've got tons of stuff by all of those bands. I'd recommend you pick up the new Corrupted CD when you're here. If I get a cd-r writer in time I can record some of the stuff for you that I have on CD (although most of my stuff is on vinyl).
