dunno if it'd be your speed or not, but I have a friend with a band called Doom Extravaganza... they list influences as Kyuss, Goatsnake, Dozer see http://www.doom.150m.com/ (band site) http://www.mp3.com.au/artist.asp?id=16680 (mp3s) http://www.michelleklaessens.com/doomextravaganza.htm (more mp3s) Also Campbell Kneale, who people may better know as noise merchant Birchville Cat Motel, has released a metal album as Black Boned Angel. From Bruce Russells article in Wire magazine - "Black Boned Angel indulge in very slow, very 'eavy riffing, with occasional megaphone vocals and flailing drumming, like an unholy marriage between The Butthole Surfers and Sunn O)))". I am definitely getting a copy when I get back to New Zealand. Where can I hear Corrupted/Grief/Eyehategod? I guess I'll need to get you to play me some music while I'm visiting! |

Cheers, I've got tons of stuff by all of those bands. I'd recommend you pick up the new Corrupted CD when you're here. If I get a cd-r writer in time I can record some of the stuff for you that I have on CD (although most of my stuff is on vinyl). |
