Tampa police officer accused of molesting two girls

Tampa, Florida - A Tampa Police officer is back home, after being released from the Pinellas County Jail on a 50-thousand-dollar bond. 49-year old Ernesto Hedges is charged with lewd and lascivious molestation on two young girls. Hedges has been a Tampa Police officer for the last 20-years. His administrators are looking into the allegations.

Joe Durkin / Tampa Police Department:
"Obviously it’s a shock and disappointment to the Tampa Police Department as a whole."

Hedges is accused of molesting two, nine-year old girls. An arrest affidavit says, he reached under the victims clothes and touched their genitals.

Joe Durkin / Tampa Police Department:
"Typically he could be suspended with pay or possibly dismissed it’s all yet to be determined."

Hedges lives in a South Tampa neighborhood and residents say, he was a good neighbor who made them feel safe, especially since he’s a police officer. Bernie Ball and Pete Vermette have known Hedges for years, they call him “Ernie”.

"Feel safe when he had the car down there and always helped everyone out around here ya know anything he could do. I mean that really amazed me I just can’t believe it."

Pete Vermette / Neighbor:
"During the fourth of July he comes out, has fireworks for the kids. He has barbeques every once in a while for the neighbors and everything, so it just doesn’t make sense it seems strange."

Hedges administrators say, he could be suspended without pay or even fired. Hedges did not want to comment on his arrest.

One fucked up law in NZ is the fact that a dealer would get more time than a rapist would...kiddie fuckers get less time than someone growing or smoking something natural from the soil...wheres the fucken logic in that i ask....

its kinda fucked up how the city coucil can create a 'liquor ban' in the cdb and yet when there is an event on (such as the violent femmes) they can abstain from enforcing it....

That gay hendersons singer guy though is right..... land of the free my ass. Fuck it has been hard trying to get by here. No wonder so many kiwis come back with accents, cos the cunts can understand english. Its only the ethnic minorities that can understand you..... kill whitey!!!!!! oh and on my flight over here I think I must of aged considerably.... the guy at the boarder, the one that took my finger prints and mug shot, entered my date of borth details wrong, I am now 94........ then I go to get my drivers licence and social security number roight.... well becasue the date of birth in my passport didnt match the one in the database supplied by immigration to social security, they wont process my application...... according to immigration, my details are fine, they cant see the problem.....FUCK YOU!!!!!! anyways longer story short, I am finally licenced and have that dumb social security number. At least I gte top see some cool bands here, and the work is interesting me.
