Was a cool night, cool to have a good turnout for the release of the compilation celebrating 30 years of Radio Control/Massey. Cheers to everyone who came along.
First up about 9.30pm was the swampified sounds of Boss Christ playing solo which still means drums/guitars and vocals and a footstomping, clap along song at the end.
Black Pudding took the stage 2nd, these days playing as a 3-piece with Markham on Keyboards. Playing some good rock n' roll on the night.
Up third was the upbeat rock sounds of The Nerines.
Turbostill were on 4th and having had plenty of lubrication we took to the stage, We're coming up with faster and heavier songs these days and seem to play better the more we drink.
finally up was Ricky Bobby playing a short Heavy set of Hardcore sounds.
A good night with people getting up and partying for all the bands.
Thanks to everyone who contributed to the comp and came to the show.
If you missed out on getting a copy of the comp. they are available from Radio Control up at Massey univeristy or get in touch with me and I can probably hook you up a copy, the online comp is available at
http://radiocontrol994.bandcamp.com/alb ... dio-massey
and as for the cd's.
we made 1000 copies of the 2 cd comp, with 100 copies with 3 cd's including the online comp.
comp review coming.

If you still haven't got a copy they are available from the Stomach and from The Rock shop or if you can make it out to Massey, you might be able to grab one from the Radio station.
I've been enjoying the 1st cd with all the 80's and 90's tracks on it as I hadn't heard most of those bands for ages. Though for solid rockingness, the third one has a good portion of the kickarse bands to have come out of the swamp in the last 10 years. There was plenty of local bands who missed out who've also made a noteworthhy contribution to the local scene but unfortunately you can't include everyone(or get hold of for permission in some cases), but I think 75 tracks from swamp musos over the last 30 years is a pretty good taste of what the swamp can and continues to produce. :)
